2nd Robotics Network Meeting
This year's robotics network meeting was a great success.
The event focused on how robots can perceive their environment and make decisions based on that.
The fact that machine vision is very useful, especially in industry, was made clear by our Managing Director Thomas Staufenbiel. He spoke about our "E-Check" project, in which we are developing advanced AI models for the external inspection and maintenance of ICE trains.
Other highlights were:
An inspiring keynote by Prof. Marc Toussaint on the Palm-E project, an AI model that allows robots to execute complex commands such as "Bring me the rice chips from the drawer". The project was implemented by researchers from the Technical University of Berlin and Google.
There were also many exciting pitches, for example from Dr. Lea Timmermann (Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin), Christoph Seifert (Realtime Robotics), Ralf Remmert (Prignitzer Landschwein GmbH), Lena Fiedler (Technische Universität Berlin), Paul Schweidler (HFC Human-Factor-Consult GmbH), David Franke (ConBotics), Elisa Czerski (N Robotics), Laura Salomon (Fraunhofer IWU) as well as insights into #ai_berlin by Philipp Günther and the Photonics Cluster Berlin Brandenburg by Stefan Bokelmann.
We thank Berlin Partner - namely Jens Woelki and his team - for the great organisation.
The Robotics Network Meeting was already taking place for the 2nd time in Berlin and is an initiative of Berlin Partner. The aim of the event is to connect people from the industry and to get the public excited about AI and robotics.
For us, one thing is certain: we will be at the 3rd Robotics Network Meeting next year as well.
